To Eat.

The Sunshine Coast is home to some fantastic eateries, from cozy to haute! We’re very grateful to live close to these wonderful establishments, and below we have set out some of our favourites. We always recommend reservations. Sometimes places are quiet and sometimes…definitely not!

Any questions? Just let us know, we’re always happy to talk about the food scene!

The Pink House Bistro

Husband-and-wife team Lisa and Chef Mike run this wonderful establishment, right in the village. The Pink House Bistro is just above Sushi Bar Nagomi (also worth a visit, see below). Lisa runs the front of house and makes incredible cocktails. Chef Mike puts up some of the tastiest dishes on the Sunshine Coast. The focused menu brings flavours from the Middle East. Pictured is the Eggplant Sabich. If you see this dish on the menu, order it!

Buono Osteria

If you’re craving carbs, Buono has you covered. Chef Mike and Nova run this bustling Italian spot with incredible views out over the ocean. The wood-fired oven turns out tasty pizzas and the team makes sure the pasta is always house-made and delicious. Personal favourites include the caesar salad and the cacio e pepe. Graham interviewed Chef Mike on his podcast Cheftimony, and you can hear that episode right here.

Gramma’s Pub

Located right on the water in Lower Gibsons, Gramma’s Pub is a Sunshine Coast classic. When the sun is shining, grab a seat on the waterfront patio and enjoy the incredible view along with very satisfying nachos, burgers and fried chicken.

Sushi Bar Nagomi

This cozy spot right in the village is one of our favourite stops for lunch, and it’s wonderful for dinner too. Chef Hiro and team have created a very welcoming space, both indoors and out, where you can enjoy sushi, hot dishes, and an impressive sake list.

Lunitas Mexican Eatery

Talk about a fun spot! Located right on the water in the village of Gibsons, Lunitas is a go-to place for happy hour, brunch and dinner. Jody and her team create both wonderful food and a very welcoming atmosphere. And amazing margaritas… Lunitas is regularly very, very busy. Make a reso!

Smitty’s Oyster House

Right next door to Lunitas, you’ll find Smitty’s Oyster House - a crowd-pleasing favourite for seafood and drinks, right on the water.

Salt & Swine

From market pop-up, to food truck, to permanent restaurant location, Salt & Swine is a fantastic choice for dine-in or take-away Mexican favourites. Located in Upper Gibsons, Salt & Swine will fill you up in-house or prepare a great meal for you to bring back and enjoy here at Quiet Cove.

Persephone Beer Farm

If you’ve ever wondered why farmers don’t brew beer (or why brewers don’t farm) wonder no more! Just visit the 11-acre beer farm that is Persephone Brewing Company. Great beers, delicious food, and a very, very popular place to be, particularly in the summer.

Tapworks Brewing Company

Tapworks is located right in the village in Lower Gibsons. When the weather is good, head to the roof-top deck for great beer and views out over the water. When the rains come, hunker in downstairs for more great beer, live music and trivia nights. The Burger Shack located on site serves up substantial snacks to go with your brew.

Banditry Cider

Banditry is on Pratt Road, a short drive from Quiet Cove. In addition to their delicious ciders, Banditry offers light snacks (and sometimes food trucks) along with absolutely beautiful outdoor seating.

Brickers Cider

OK, this one isn’t even in Gibsons. But Brickers is most definitely on the Sunshine Coast and we think it’s worth the drive. Brickers brews fantastic ciders, they have a food “Shed” with substantial snacks, and the seating both indoors and out is top-notch. Hear from Nick, one of the family members behind Brickers, on Episode 032 of the Cheftimony Podcast.
